Short description
This is a strikingly good and very large cameo that shows Hermes (Mercury) taking the baby Bacchus to Ino. Bacchus was entrusted to Hermes by his father, Zeus.
Condition: Good used condition, there are some stress marks (please see photos). Some high points of carving are slightly rubbed.
It's a rare, museum-quality piece in gold and comes complete with gold safety chain.
